A fishing trip on Linklater Lake, west of Vermilion Bay has ended up being a costly one for a Winnipeg man.
Barry Golin has been fined $2,400 for obstructing a fisheries officer, fishing without a licence, fishing with too many lines and having open liquor.
Last March, conservation officers were on routine patrol when they spotted Golin with three lines through the ice.
Court heard that Golin obstructed one of the officers and ignored instructions and cut one of the lines with a knife.
He has received a two-year fishing suspension.
