Fundraising efforts for a new CT Scan Unit at the Dryden Regional Health Centre have reached a new level.
The need for community support is at a high after the current machine received significant water damage Saturday evening.
Chief Executive Officer Wade Petranik says there is a possibility that the damage could cause them to push their timeline ahead in acquiring a new CT system.
Petranik also mentions that the incident is rare and they will be looking thoroughly into why it happened to ensure that it won't happen again.
So far, 800-thousand dollars in cash and pledges have been received.
1.25-million is the target.
