The local representative for the Ontario Public Service Employees Union is recommending her members at Confederation College vote against a contract offer from management.
Rebecca Ward believes the college system has misjudged the intellect of the group by asking them to vote on the offer, noting its pretty clear the deal is a bad one.
Ward says the proposal wasn't sanctioned or approved by the union and stresses it wasn't negotiated over the last weekend at the table.
Voting across the province is underway and wraps up Thursday morning.
The strike is now into its fifth week.
