A stiff penalty has been handed down for a Fort Frances hunter.
Michael Shine has been fined $2,800 for careless hunting and trespassing.
Shine has also been banned from hunting for three years and ordered to complete 50-hours of community service work.
The sentence is the result of a November, 2016 hunting trip near Barwick.
Court heard that Shine fired his rifle while standing on a road and did so in the direction of another hunter who feared for his safety.
Shine also didn’t have the landowner’s permission to hunt on their property.
