A focus on skilled trades and technology Saturday.
A number of students from Keewatin-Patricia District School board high schools are in Thunder Bay for a Skills Ontario Competition qualifier.
Students have to perform tasks in one of four different categories; carpentry, culinary arts, welding and TV and video production.
Top three in each category earn the right to compete at a provincial event in Toronto later in May.
Spokesperson Anne Ramsey says no matter what, students gain so much confidence and knowledge, noting they get to meet mentors and peers.
Ramsey calls it a win-win situation.
