The new PC government continues to target education in the early stages of its tenure.
Education Minister Lisa Thompson says they’re scrapping the controversial sex-ed program introduced by the previous Liberals.
Instead, the PC’s are going to enforce a curriculum from 20 years ago to help educate students, drawing frustration from opposition parties.
NDP MPP Catherine Fife tweeted the change to the program endangers Ontario’s youth because 2018 is not 1998.
Party Leader Andrea Horwath calls the move disappointing and is continuing her demands for an explanation from the Premier regarding his recent cuts.
Other leaders and members of government are saying that the old program will not adequately prepare youth for the challenges in today’s world.
