The ‘Slap Shots and Boot Stompin’ Tour is making its way to northwestern Ontario.
A group of NHL legends will play in Red Lake and Sioux Lookout.
Rick McKenzie is the President of the Sioux Lookout Minor Hockey Association and he was a guest on the CKDR Morning Show Thursday to promote his Friday, October 20th event.
McKenzie says the Sioux Lookout game will be used to raise funds for new jerseys and equipment for young hockey players.
The Legends will consist of some of the greats including Marcel Dionne, Rick Vaive, Mike Krushelnyski, Cliff Ronning, Jocelyn Lemieux, Dave McLlwain, Trevor Kidd and Jyrki Lumme.
They will play the Sioux Lookout All-Stars.
McKenzie says the legends will be readily available to the public as the players are scheduled to visit Sioux Mountain School as well as host a Meet-and-Greet with sponsors.
Kids will also have a chance during the intermissions to visit the teams locker room.
There will also be a Kitchen Party featuring music from Canadian Country star Aaron Pritchett at the Royal Canadian Legion following the game.
Tickets are available at Gillons’ Insurance on Front Street.
