Kenora MP Bob Nault says the light at the end of the tunnel is coming for NAFTA negotiations.
Nault says talks will be picking up the pace due to an upcoming Mexican election and midterms for the United States in the Fall.
He mentions it is good they are trying to reach an agreement since it would be tough to drop altogether with over 2 billion dollars worth of trade per day with the US alone.
Nault also says if they do reach an agreement in principle, then it will ensure the balance of the Canadian economy.
Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland is in Washington DC this weekend with US and Mexican officials to discuss the details.
