The prime minister is wishing Don Rusnak and his family well after the Liberal MP announced he will not seek reelection this year.
Justin Trudeau says in a statement “we thank Don for his work on behalf of the people of Thunder Bay-Rainy River over the past three and a half years.
Don has done important work as a Member of Parliament, and in his role as the former chair of the Liberal Indigenous caucus.”
Rusnak says he is not running because he wants to spend more time with his young family.
It has left the riding association scrambling to find a replacement candidate since Rusnak was already nominated in November.
