The Canada Revenue Agency is raising awareness about ongoing scams with its name attached.
They include phone calls, texts and emails claiming you own money and threaten jail time if you don't pay immediately.
CRA's Paul Murphy says they are not from them as they don't send emails with embedded links.
He also says they never accept bitcoin or gift cards as payment either so if those are requested it is definitely a scam.
Murphy says the CRA also never sends a text messages and never threatens anyone for payment of delinquent accounts.
