More than 160 residents of Keewaywin First Nation are now being temporarily housed at the Sioux Lookout Recreation Centre.
The municipality declared a state of emergency last week to prepare the community for the influx of evacuees.
Sioux Lookout municipal officials say it could be several more days before the Keewaywin residents will be allowed to return home with a forest fire still threatening the community.
Volunteers are needed to help with meals, security and other services at the rec centre.
