It’s a special day to honour teachers.
Thursday is World Teacher’s Day which is celebrated every year by The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization.
Director of Education for the Kenora Catholic District School Board Phyllis Eikre says teachers and support staff really are the backbone of the school system.
Eikre points out that teachers continue to carry out tireless work in the classroom and outside the classroom.
She says instructors are the key to the success of all students and supporting them to excel both as a student and as a person.
The Board has over 110-teachers and 1,400 students at five schools in Red Lake, Kenora and Keewatin.
