Eagle Lake’s Nathan Bruyere has put pen to paper and has signed his first official East Coast Hockey League contract.
The Indy Fuel have signed the 24-year-old defenceman for the 2016-2017 season.
The young ECHL team is the affiliate of the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs.
The Fuel haven’t made the playoffs in their two years in the league.
Bruyere played two seasons with Lakehead University after a three year junior stint with the OCN Blizzard of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
With the Thunderwolves, Bruyere scored 11-goals and added 15-assists in 56-games.
The 6’4, 245-pound Bruyere is expected to add some size and strength to the Fuel blueline.
