Everyone is a winner now that a lottery deal has been reached between the Dryden GM Ice Dogs and the Dryden Minor Hockey Association.
The junior hockey team will be able to take advantage of the Association’s lottery licence to offer 50/50 ticket sales all season.
Ice Dogs President Mike Sveinson says they will share the revenue with Minor Hockey, as well as hand out season passes to all players.
The move will give some 278 young players a chance to enjoy junior hockey in the community.
Sveinson calls the partnership a natural fit and stresses the revenue from the sales will help off-set the costs of hosting the Dudley Hewitt Cup.
Minor Hockey President Marjo Viherjoki says Ice Dogs players are role models in our community and have continuously donated their time by helping out minor hockey players on the ice every year.
Viherjoki says she feels it’s important to give back to the organization, noting their kids get excited to go to the games.
