November 19, 1947 – April 23, 2017
Mike passed away peacefully April 23, 2017.
Mike had many interests: being outdoors, listening to jazz, growing great plants, traveling and thinking about life.
Mike was born in Graz, Austria on November 19, 1947, and came to Canada the following year with his parents Vaclovas Krulitskas and Gertrude Mayer.
Most of his life was lived in Toronto but adventure led him to Dryden where he has lived for the past two years. He was a familiar sight to many on his long walks with his beloved little dog, Buddy.
Mike had deep gratitude to the many people in Dryden who helped him since coming to Dryden. Many people were helpful and kind, but very special thanks go to the volunteers at Second Chance Pet Network who helped Mike get settled here in Dryden, especially Joanne, Mike, Silvia, Jackie, and Katie. Mike also was treated with great kindness by Tammy at Meals on Wheels and by the volunteer drivers, by Barb and the CCAC Home Care nurses, and by Wally from KDSB. Dr. Lorbetskie made room in his practice to attend to Mike, and really went the extra mile with follow-ups and concern.
The palliative care staff were wonderful and made Mike feel comfortable and cared for. Thanks also to Dr. Cook, MaryAnne, and Kerri.
Mike’s memory will always be cherished by his soulmate Sharon, and his special friend BettyLou.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
As per Michael’s wishes, there will be no service.
Interment of ashes will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Second Chance Pet Network through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Ave., Dryden, ON P8N 2X3
