Lucille Frances Bedard
December 11, 1941 – January 24, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, sister, grandmother and friend. Lucille died on January 24, 2018 in Vernon, BC, at the age of 76 after a short battle with Cancer.
Mom was affectionately known to many as “Granny” or “Sam”.
Mom was born in 1941 in Winnipeg, however, spent the majority of her life in Dryden where she married her love Ben and raised five children and many grandchildren.
In her younger days, many a summer was spent camping in the nearby lakes where she enjoyed her time with her long time friends.
She enjoyed sewing and knitting and spending time with family. She loved travelling to see family and she loved being at home. Her home was always open, whether it be to raid her fridge, or just to say hi. Mom lived her life for her children and grandchildren and loved them all without reservation.
Mom was the centre of our family; our heart and soul and will be greatly missed by everyone. She had a great sense of humour which she showed right until the end.
Mom had a dream along with dad, to retire in BC. She was finally able to see that dream come true, although it was cut short. She is now resting peacefully with dad and other loved ones watching over us.
Mom is survived by children Roger (Anna) Richard (Dawn) Henri (Nat) and Chantal (Rob), sister Darlene (Larry), brother Lorne (Gay) and grandchildren Ehren(Lisa), Charity(Sean) Nikki(Shawn) Sonja, Denae, Aimee, Logan, Jaxom and Chad, Ben, Dustin, Michel and Daniel and great grandchildren Kiya, Brylee, Miryah, Ben and Skylar.
She was predeceased by her mother Evelyn, husband Ben, sister Alvina, son Jim, granddaughter Jaymie, and brothers, Russell, Alex and David.
A Memorial Funeral Service to celebrate Lucille’s life will be held on Saturday, February 24th, 2018 at 11:00 am in Full Gospel Church with Velma Henderson officiating.
If friends so desire, donations can be made in Lucille’s memory to Canadian Cancer Society through Stevens Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 412, Dryden, Ontario, P8N 2Z1.
