On Thursday March 22nd, 2018 Leo Langlais passed away suddenly at the age of 53.
Leo is lovingly remembered by his wife Tracey of 23 years, his children Jenna and Meg and his English Spring Spaniel Lacey. Leo will be forever remembered by his siblings Leona (Rick), Claude (Diana), Daniel (Anne), Richard (Marg), Colleen (Doug), Michael (Cathy), Paul (Jodi), Guy (Wendy) and his sister in law Janice. He is also survived by his father and mother in law, Ernie and Bernice Campeau and his sister in law Tina and his brother in law and longtime friend Marty.
He is predeceased by his parents Leo and Orise and his brother Jerry.
After a “courtship” period, Leo convinced Tracey to start dating him October 22nd, 1982. They were secretly married in Vegas on April 6th, 1995.
Willowdale Trailer Park #16 was the location of their first home together and they lived there until they built their forever home on Wabigoon Lake in 1997.
Their first daughter, Jenna, was born on February 15th, 1997. On August 27th, 1999 their second daughter, Meg, arrived.
Leo was a wonderful husband and a devoted father to his girls. They meant the world to him and he worked hard to ensure they had a life full of opportunity and experiences. They enjoyed many family trips and adventures together, so many memories to be cherished.
Leo was born on February 19th, 1965 in Dryden, growing up in the rural community of Oxdrift.
His first job was at Economy Supermarket where he apprenticed as a Butcher.
Leo currently worked at Domtar as a Millwright.
He was a mentor and friend to all those he worked with.
Leo was the youngest of 10 siblings. He held a close bond with his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and their families. A gathering of the Langlais clan was something to behold as their numbers tallied in at just under 100 people. Leo loved these gatherings because there were always good stories being told, a competitive poker game on the go and someone who was angry that there were on the losing side of that game.
Leo loved spending time with his friends, traveling, camping, fishing, snow machining, riding his motor bike and of course having a good game of poker.
A memorial funeral service will be held Tuesday March 27th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Royal Canadian Legion with Rev Michael Bergman officiating.
