A major vote of confidence for Dryden GM Ice Dogs Head Coach and General Manager Kurt Walsten.
The Ice Dogs have re-signed Walsten to a five-year contract extension, seeing him behind the bench until the 2022/2023 season.
Under the guidance of Walsten, Dryden GM has made it to the SIJHL finals four-years in a row, winning back-to-back Bill Salonen Championships, and making the final of the Dudley Hewitt Cup last year.
President Mike Sveinson says Walsten has raised the bar significantly for what they expect as a coach and the new contract is their commitment to him for all he has done.
Sveinson adds almost every 20-year-old player who has played here during his tenure have gone to post-secondary scholarships.
