The first member of the Dryden GM Ice Dogs graduating team has inked a deal to play college hockey next season.

Defenceman Jake Gushue will join the Briercrest Hockey program.

The school is located in Caronport, Saskatchewan and the Clippers play out of the Alberta College Hockey League.

Coach Jamie Ramer says Gushue is a great fit for their program and he brings significant junior experience and size on the back end.

Ice Dogs Coach Kurt Walsten says Gushue is dedicated and will do anything for his team to win.

He adds the product of Maple Ridge, B.C. will bring plenty of character to the Clippers team.

Former English River Miners goalie Korlan Vader will join Gushue in Briercrest.
