The Dryden GM Ice Dogs used the body, energy and special teams to their advantage in a 4-1 win over the Minnesota Iron Rangers Friday night in Hoyt Lakes.
After giving up the first goal the Ice Dogs stormed back to score four unanswered.
Blake Berg led the way with 1-goal and 3-assists.
Cole Golka, Dylan Cusmano and Jonathen Philley added singles.
Dryden GM was 8-8 on the penalty kill with one short-handed goal.
They also scored twice on four man advantages.
Dryden GM outshot Minnesota 40-34.
Game 2 is Saturday at 7:00.
