Catherine DecKelver accepts the award for Patricia Area Community Endeavours Business of the Year from Chair of the Invest Committee, Rob McClendon.
Catherine has owned and operated Drayton Cash & Carry in Sioux Lookout since May 2007 and provides a variety of convenience products to her clients ranging for cold cut meats, tobacco products, movie rentals and lottery tickets.

Cloverbelt Country Farmer’s Market partnered with Northwestern Health Unit to pilot a project called the “Locavore Box”. It was 30 participants where they would pay $20 every 2 weeks and receive local produce, meat & bread from local producers. This went for 14 weeks. Included in each box was a newsletter featuring a local producer, a recipe and local events. There was a feedback sheet included.
To date there is a list for next year already at 90+ people.
How cold is it???!!! At one point the mercury dipped to at least -41 in some area communities.
