Congratulations call from the riding and the Province as 29 year old Sarah Campbell is elected as our MPP. Sarah worked in Howard Hampton's Constituency Office and is a life long resident of Northwetern Ontario. She won the riding with almost 50% of the popular vote, vs 38% for Conservative Rod McKay. The Liberals Anthony Leek was under 10%

At the suggestion of Princess Court Family Council, the 11 year old TV’s on Princess Court’s 2nd and 3rd floors have been replaced with new flat screen TV’s and DVD players. DECO (Dryden Extended Care Organization) Princess Court Auxiliary funded the over 29 hundred dollar purchase through Tuck Shop sales, In Memoriam donations and other donations. The Dryden Trillium Lions Club shared their portion proceeds from the 2011 Lions Truck & Boat Draw to support local causes. Accepting donations from Wendy Wiedenhoeft of the Dryden Trillium Lions Club are Neil McLeod, DHS Eagles Gridiron Club ($500); Katherine Campbell, Dryden Diabetes Education Centre ($1,000); Susan Schultz, Dryden Trillium Lions Medical Assistance ($2,500) and Pennies from Heaven ($500) Funds; Carmelle Noiseux, Grace Haven ($1,000); Barbara Kennedy, Canadian Cancer Society ($1,000); and Lynn Carlson, Mayor's Committee for Children & Youth ($2,000). Also receiving funds were Dryden Regional Health Centre ($5,000); Dryden Youth Centre/Neighbourhood Legacy ($1,000); Camp Quality ($1,000); CNIB ($1,000); Lions 5M10 & CNIB Lake Joseph Transportation Project ($2,000); and Lions Foundation of Canadian Dog Guides ($1,000).

A young pilot walked away unharmed after a forced landing just northwest of Vermilion Bay on the weekend.
Emergency personnel were contacted around 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
The small plane came down on McIntosh Road near Canyon Lake.
