In In loving memory of the late Fergie McDougall who passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Sunday November 4, 2001 at the Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital at the age of 87. Fergie was the beloved husband of Winnie McDougall, and the loving dad of Moe McDougall. Fergie will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Michael and Matthew McDougall, his sister Lady Roberta Mason of England, sisters-in-law Doris Singleton and Betty McDougall, cousins Diana Ballentine, Sheila Case and Andrew McDougall and all his nieces and nephews. Fergie was the youngest of 8 children born in Haileybury, Ontario and moved to Ottawa when he was 4 years of age. He came to Red Lake in 1935 and has lived here ever since, except for his time that he served with the military police, stationed in Nova Scotia. Fergie and Winnie met in 1948 when Winnie came to Red Lake as a Red Cross Nurse. After actively pursuing her they were married in August. Fergie enjoyed traveling after his retirement and loved visiting with people. He also enjoyed having his dogs. Fergie had an indomitable spirit and was an awful tease that we all loved. A Service of Remembrance to celebrate the life of Fergie McDougall will be held in the Red Lake United Church on Saturday November 10, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev Don McKay officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. A Legion Service will be held at the United Church on Saturday.
