In loving memory of Ellenor Hercun who passed away at the age of 82, surrounded by her family on November 19th, 2016 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
Ellenor’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, and hosting many family functions. She loved her special visits, cooking meals, playing cards and games or just chatting and reminiscing. She was very crafty with knitting, sewing and especially enjoyed quilting. Ellenor was an avid gardener, harvesting it by canning, making jams, pickles and much more for many years. She always enjoyed camping and curling. She was active in the community, volunteering at the Ukrainian Hall and her Church, going to bingos, playing cards and making occasional gambling trips.
Ellenor is survived by her son Len (Joanne), their son Sean (Andrea) and children Adam and William, their daughter Tania (Alex) and children Benjamin, Emily and Aliana; her son Tom, his daughter Adriana (Jordan) and child Maxwell, his son Alexander; her daughter Kathy (Frank); her son Gerry (Laurie) and their sons Cory (Erin) and children Kasmir and Desmond, Jordan (Sara) and daughter Isabelle, Graham (Ashley); her daughter Lisa (Dennis) and their sons Ryan (Shanna) and children Kolbyn and Merynne, Justin (Mandy) and daughter Ella, Tyler (Darci); sisters Joyce (Ed), and Dot (Mike); sisters-in-law Shirley, Ann (Jerry); brothers-in-law Walter, Vic (Rose), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father Frank, mother Eliza, step father George, husband Kasmir, sister Vangi, brother Ben, brothers-in-law Ron, Ding and Merrion and sisters-in-law May and Jenny.
Ellenor was a kind-hearted and generous person who holds a special place in so many hearts.
Visitation for Ellenor will be held at Dryden Community Funeral Home on Thursday, November 24th from noon to 2:00 p.m. and then 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with prayers at 1:00 p.m.
Funeral services for Ellenor will be held on Friday, November 25th at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Dryden with Father Al Campeau officiating. Interment of ashes will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Tamarac House, or Oncology Unit through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Avenue, Dryden, ON, P8N 2X3.
