In loving memory of It is with very sad and heavy hearts that the family of Carol Elina Voth (nee Wall) announce her passing at Dryden Regional Health Centre with family by her side. Carol was born the 2nd of 3 children to Perry and Helen Wall on October 16, 1938 and as a youngster lived with her family in Minnitaki, Ontario.
Carol met the love of her life, Henry Voth when they were still in high school and they quickly fell in love. Carol and Henry were married in Dryden on July 12, 1957 and just this summer celebrated 59 years of wedded bliss. They began to expand their family right after marriage and over the years they welcomed three daughters and a son, and then much later 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren to their brood. Carol loved her family more than anything and it was important to her to keep up to date with all of the growth and changes as the years passed.
Carol always kept busy with many of her hobbies. She was an amazing crafter enjoying such things as quilting, artex, stained glass, Swedish weaving and was an exceptional seamstress sewing many of the clothes her children wore. Carol was also a very social person who loved visiting with people. She always found a reason to stop in for hot tea or a cold beer with one of her many friends whenever she was in town tending to her errands. And whenever there was a party, Carol was one of the first ones up on the dance floor usually urging everyone else to get up and dance with her as she whirled around the floor. For many years Carol was part of a bowling league and very much looked forward to her bowling afternoons when she could hone her skills and catch up with friends. Carol most recently joined the Red Hat Ladies which was right up her alley because anyone who knew Carol knew that she loved a good hat. This group allowed her to showcase her new hats while she enjoyed getting together with the girls for lunch.
Carol is survived by her loving husband Henry who cherished her always. Also surviving her are her 4 loving and dedicated children, Dianne (Dan Scott), Janet (Tom Hamilton), Debbie Carrier, and Jim (Lori), her brother Ron Wall and her sister Alice Hawke. Predeceasing Carol are her parents, Perry and Helen Wall, a son in infancy, her father- and mother-in-law Wilhelm and Agatha Voth, and her son-in-law Wayne Carrier.
There will be no formal service but the family is inviting everyone to a mix-and-mingle luncheon at 2:00pm at the Dryden Community Funeral Home on Friday September 16th to share memories and to celebrate Carol’s life.
