In loving memory of Anne Luchka, who passed away peacefully on Thursday July 7, 2016 at Princess Court at the young age of 97.
Anne is survived by her sons William of Dryden and Murney of Rossland, BC. Also left to mourn her passing are her two grandsons, William Jr. (Melanie) of Wetaskawin, Alberta and Darren (Lynn) of St. Catherines, Ontario plus six great-grandchildren, Darion, Cassidy and Hunter of Wetaskawin, Alberta and Ethan, Mea and Zachary of St. Catherines, Ontario.
She was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1991, son Adolph, daughter Virginia and her daughter-in-law Christine in 2012.
Anne was an avid member of the Ukrainian Literary society of Dryden. She was heavily involved with the Zirka Dancers with her embroidery of the shirts and was a member of the choir that sang at the Ukrainian Festivals. She was well known for her perogies and other Ukrainian dishes. Extended family fondly remebers her at family dinners saying “Eat, Eat”. She was known to all who knew her as “Baba”.
She enjoyed reading, knitting and embroidery and led a full life.
Thank you to all the staff at Princess Court for their care and concern for Mom. She will be sadly missed by her family.
A Memorial Funeral Service to celebrate Anne’s life wil be held Friday, July 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Alan Campeau officiating. Interment of ashes will follow in the Dryden Cemetery.
