All 3 of Ontario’s main political parties have indicated forestry
remains a critical part of the local economy.
The Ontario Forestry Coalition asked the 3-party leaders to unveil
their strategy for the struggling sector in preparation for the October
election.
Morthwestern Ontario Municipal Association President and Dryden Mayor
Anne Krassilowsky says she was pleased with all 3 platforms.
The Coalition says the NDP’s response hit the target in most areas,
while the PC party was strong with clarification still needed on the endangered
species requirement.
The group adds the Liberal party, while supportive, was more focused
on their past record and unclear in 3-areas.
Krassilowsky says they plan to follow up with all 3 parties a few
weeks before the election.
